Gas
DJ Civils provides civil engineering for gas infrastructure projects, including trenching for pipelines, valve chamber construction, reinforced foundations, and associated reinstatement works. Our teams have experience delivering complex works in live environments, with full coordination of utility interfaces, safety controls, and environmental protection measures. From major transmission assets to local connections, we ensure safe, efficient delivery.

​Electricity Networks
Our civils support includes ducting, cable routes, joint bays, and substation base construction for both high-voltage and low-voltage electricity networks. We deliver in both greenfield and constrained urban environments, managing phased delivery, asset protection, and utility coordination. Whether supporting grid upgrades or new energy connections, our infrastructure is built to perform.

Wind farms
We support turbine foundations, crane hardstandings, access tracks, drainage systems, and cabling infrastructure for onshore wind farms. Our experience includes working in remote and environmentally sensitive locations, with a focus on programme control, temporary works, and safety. Our solar civils work include reinforced equipment bases, inverter plinths, cable trenching, perimeter access, and site-wide drainage. Power stations
DJ Civils offers civil engineering support for power station infrastructure, encompassing foundations, access roads, drainage, utilities, and temporary works for heavy plant. We coordinate with M&E contractors, adhere to high-spec health and safety requirements, and ensure infrastructure readiness for commercial power generation.
Calor Gas - Canvey Island Project
Canvey Terminal was the world’s first LNG import terminal, completed in 1964. Calor Gas (Calor) acquired the terminal in 1999 and subsequently converted it for LPG import. LPG is stored on site in five cryogenic tanks.

The Canvey Terminal is classified as an ‘Upper Tier’ COMAH site, with restricted and controlled access requirements.

The facility is currently undergoing a programme of critical infrastructure upgrades. DJC holds an ongoing framework contract to deliver these works, which include improvements to the existing storage tanks, repairs to storage bunds, and remedial works to the concrete swale chambers.
Additional works cover excavation for piling and crane mats, GPS drone surveys for cut-and-fill earthworks level control, installation of reinforced concrete retaining walls and bases, paving blocks, hard standings, and scaffold platforms.
